You rob & steal truth, joy, happiness, all the things we as Christians are told to think on in Philippians 4:8 (New King James Version). You take away a persons dignity when you gossip, any nobility there may be in a situation, is stolen by the gossiper. If that doesn't get your attention, you steal from yourself. Wound healing is exhausting, hard work. You have to re-visit things that seem like huge scary monsters, lurking in your past. The truth is once you visit them with Jesus, they aren't so scary after all. Put your trust in God; it's simple, not always easy. Putting your trust in God takes work in the beginning. "To deliberately destroy, damage, or obstruct ones self." Peter stepped out of the boat, was walking on water, and then BAM, doubt overtook him (Matthew 14:29-31). Such a perfect example of self-sabotage; Peters got it going on, everything is perfect. Seriously, think about it, HE WAS WALKING ON WATER! But Peter decided he couldn't do it. That simple; he told God He was wrong. I can hear him saying, "you got the wrong guy God, I can't walk on water, I'm not good enough.
I frequently say, "do not let someone else's lie become your truth."
Jesus says, "if you abide in me..."
To obtain the truth and be set free, you MUST abide in Jesus.
To distinguish what lies have become your truth, you Must abide in Jesus.
Abiding in Jesus will perpetuate a cycle of revealing the lies, and implanting the truth.
